Paul Edgar Woods, age 92 passed away August 22, 2010 at the Volunteer Hospital in Martin, TN.

He was born on March 16, 1918 in Chester County, TN the son of the late Lonnie and Martha Rhodes Woods. He was married to Mary Rebecca Jones Woods October 10, 1943. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2002. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving with the Army’s 6th Calvary. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriner’s, Civitan Club and the V.F.W. of Henderson, TN. He worked at Bolton Ford for many years and owned and operated, Paul Woods Insurance Agency for 30 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Martha Lee Lacy (Jerry) of Martin; a son, Donald R. Woods (Karen) of Maryville; a brother, Joe Woods (Jean) of Pigeon Forge; 6 grandchildren, Mike Lacy of Memphis, Jenny Lacy Graves of Jackson, Julie Lacy Ashby of Memphis, Tracy Woods Ramsey of Radford, VA, Jessica Woods Moerman of Atlanta and Amy Woods of Maryville and also 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers to serve will be grandson-in-laws, Clark Ramsey, Chris Moerman, Mitch Graves, Bryce Ashby, Mike Lacy a grandson and Miles Rhodes a nephew.

Services were held on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors-Johnson Chapel, 619 East Main Street Henderson, Tennessee with interment at Unity Cemetery, Jacks Creek, Tennessee
 

William Elmer Ross, age 91, passed away August 21, 2010 at Lexington Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Henderson County, the son of the late Sol and Rosie Ross. He farmed as a young man and later worked with Memphis Furniture Company in Memphis for 11 years and later worked for A.P. Mills Industry for the blind for 19 years and retired in 1984.

He is survived by two sisters, Pauline Webber of Chicago and Faye Smith of Texarkana, TX.

Hazel Lucille Hearn, age 92, passed away August 21, 2010 at Chester County Healthcare.

She was born in Chester County, the daughter of the late Eb and Lora Murley Hearn. She attended school in Chester County and was employed by Salant and Salant Mfg. in Henderson as an inspector. Miss Hearn had made her home in Chester County. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one sister, Tressie Copper of Henderson and a brother Willard Hearn of Henderson and also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Frank.

Orfa Aranda Goad age 74, passed away August 21, 2010.

She was born and reared in Managua, Nicaragua the daughter of the late Pablo Emilio Aranda and Maria Virginia Sandoval Aranda. She graduated from Convent School in Managua and completed Business College in California.

She worked as a secretary until she married Bobby Franklin Goad in 1960. They lived most of their married life in Memphis where Mr. Goad was in the auto body industry. They moved to Chester County in 1997. Mr. Goad preceded in death in 2006; she continued to make her home in the Montezuma Community. She was a devoted wife and mother who was dearly loved and cherished by her children and grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardner. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Selmer.

She is survived by three daughters, Retha Fausett and husband Michael of Conway, AR, Virginia Matrisciano and husband Anthony of East Stroudsburg, PA and Donna Brignac of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Victoria, Elizabeth, Samuel and Andrew Matrisciano, Kristal Thomas (Ronnie), and Jonathon and Bobby Fausett and three great-grandchildren, Christian and Christopher Roe and Bryan Thomas; a brother, Pablo Aranda of Miami, FL and a sister, Jenny LaFontaine of Orlando, FL; extended family, Maria Avila, Fernando Zavala, Luna Avila and Shawn Avila.

Services were held on Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jackson, Tennessee with interment at Bishop Cemetery, Jonesboro, Arkansas
